NZBOX recommends using a suitable, product-specific primer to ensure the longevity of your container and its paint job. Our Etch Primer is a high-performance, one-component etch primer with superior anticorrosive properties. It contains rust inhibiting pigments for corrosion protection and phosphoric acid for etching of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Etch Primer is suitable for application on degreased iron, aluminium, bronze, copper, galvanised steel, steel and stainless steel. It’s fast-drying at ambient temperatures and is resistant to heat offering minimum “burn back” characteristics from welds. It is widely used as a holding primer for structural steel and therefore is ideal for preparation on shipping containers, as well as trailers, boats, tractors, cars and metal construction.
