10ft shipping containers
10ft shipping containers are half the size of a standard shipping container and are a great solution when space is limited. They are frequently used by both business owners and homeowners for the storage of goods and/or equipment. They are also commonly modified for a variety of purposes e.g. site office at a construction site, garden shed for a household, coffee kiosk at a retail park etc. NZBOX 10ft containers are available in either standard height or high cube and in a range of grades.
10ft Shipping Container for Sale
Half the size of a standard, general purpose container, the 10 foot container provides ample storage space in a smaller package. Popular for building sites, or for home storage they offer 15.9cbm of storage for a standard height 10′ and 18cbm for a 10′ high cube container.
- Constructed with steel frames, fully vertically corrugated steel side and end walls, die-stamped corrugated steel roof, wooden or bamboo flooring, corrugated double hinged doors
- Made from extremely tough Corten Steel
- Exterior x 3 coats of Paint. Interior 2 x coats of paint
- Marine Plywood Floor or Bamboo Floor with a Polyurethane Finish
- Lockbox – For added security
- Full door seals to ensure weather tightness and vermin proof.
- Forklift Pockets – For onsite moves
- Double Locking Gear or Easy Open Door
- Available in standard height as well as High Cube
Delivery Options: Hiab truck unless the customer has a forklift on site. It can then be delivered with a flat deck.

What are 10ft containers used for?
10ft containers are just as versatile as standard sized shipping containers (20ft) with the only difference being their capacity. The smaller size arguably makes them a more practical choice as they are able to be placed in a wider range of spaces while still offering good storage.
Do you sell modified 10ft containers?
Yes, we currently have modified 10ft container kiosks that are framed, welded and ready to go. These are perfect for trade shows, events and festivals and are extremely transportable for those travelling all across the country.
What colour do they come in?
Typically, our 8ft and 10ft shipping containers are either Blue or Beige. However, it’s a good idea to check with us as we sometimes have other colours. Of course, we can always paint any container in any colour of your choice for a modest fee.
I’m planning on moving house. Can a 10ft container fit all my belongings?
Typically, we advise using a 20’ft container for a 3-4 bedroom house. Also, 20ft containers are cheaper to transport as they can be put on a swing-lift truck whereas a 10ft requires a Hiab truck which is sometimes up to twice the price.
How many pallets fit in a 10ft container?
A 10ft shipping container will fit two standard pallets side by side.
How big is a 10ft shipping container?

Our 10ft shipping container has a unit weight of 1,255KG and a payload of 8,095KG.
We used NZ Box to relocate our household effects from Auckland to Clutha, we found them exceptionally easy to work with, very prompt service and good pricing. Communication was excellent with them and the truck drivers they used. It was a four day trip from pick up to delivery and the container we rented was in excellent condition with everything dry and sound inside.
